Research interests

My research uses quasi-linear diffusion theory to model the Earth’s electron radiation belts, which consist of electrons that originate in the solar wind, become trapped in the geomegnetic field and get accelerated to high energies. Understanding the radiation belts is important because they can disrupt satellites which provide important services such as GPS.
